Yunomi's are a traditional Japanese tea bowl. They need to be taller than they are wide, and have a trimmed foot. This form is, to me, the epitome of what makes pottery so personal and intimate. Holding a yunomi style cup, while casual, can be a very comforting experience.
 
This oversized cup is what I call a swirly-cup, and is glazed in a gorgeous mottled jade over a rich red claybody.
