A palimpsest is something bearing layers of traces from previous versions of itself. Allow yourself to be drawn into the surface work — particularly the pieces where pattern, color, texture and wear seem to reveal something underneath.
 
They feel like architectural fragments: old wallpaper, painted plaster, exposed clay, faded ornament, layers of something that was once beautiful and is now weathered. They connect very naturally to the derelict-house / memory / remnants body of work that I have been developing this year.
