The decoration on this swirl tumbler cup is informed by my love of derelict and abandoned houses. Imagine walking into such a building, and seeing layers and layers of peeling and chipped paint and wallpaper. Perhaps there's even some plaster missing and you can see the lath or brick or stone behind the wall. Over there by the fireplace you see decades of smoke stains darkening the wall above. All of this hints at the history and the humanity that took place in those spaces.
