Page Kelly, Maker

Page Kelly is the ceramic artist and maker of the handmade wheel thrown pottery of Zephyr Valley Ceramics. Page was first introduced to clay early in grade school and then again in the late 1980's during a summer spent as a nanny for a family of production potters. Later, after returning to Montana in 2002, Page began taking community classes at the Archie Bray Foundation, and in 2007 started a regular studio practice. In 2024, Zephyr Valley Ceramics was relocated to the wonderful creative community of Idyllwild, California.

Today, Page is a nationally exhibiting artist who continues her ceramic practice, exploring new techniques to create new work as her vision continues to evolve.

Page Kelly Piccolo

My current work has taken two paths. My functional tableware is focused on creating a minimalist decoration with a high level of making, ensuring each piece is beautifully and thoughtfully crafted. My home decor and objets d'art are inspired by my time as a home builder and general contractor. I find exquisite beauty in the derelict, the abandoned. Crumbling plaster and paint, peeling wallpaper, glimpses of lathe and stone and brick.

I work in Cone 6 stoneware, wheel throwing, hand building and altering. I fire in an electric kiln in an oxidation atmosphere.
